I’ve not been treated fairly – Asamoah Gyan

Gyan MikeBlack Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan
Asamoah Gyan has said he has been treated unfairly after it was wrongly reported Cristiano Ronaldo had become the first man to score at eight successive major tournaments.

Gyan, who plays for Kayserispor in Turkey, feels his achievements are being disregarded.

Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in Portugal’s 3-3 draw with Spain on Friday night which took his scoring record to eight major tournaments in a row.

But this is a feat Gyan achieved in 2015, at the African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

The true record actually stands at nine successive tournaments, held by Gyan.

A number of Ghanaians, and Africans, in general, leapt to the defence of the Ghanaian striker, after the mistake was pointed out by journalist Michale oti Adjei.
Gyan has scored at three World Cups and six African Nations Cup tournaments.

His first goal at a major tournament against Czech Republic at the 2006 World Cup, before following that up with the first goal of the AFCON 2008, which Ghana hosted.

He scored three more goals followed at AFCON 2010, including the headed winner against Nigeria in the semifinals.

Gyan probably peaked at the World Cup in 2010, with three goals, and was famously denied a pivotal fourth under heartbreaking circumstances against Uruguay, that would have sent Ghana to the semi-finals.

He then scored a goal apiece in the next three AFCON tournaments as well as scoring two goals, against Germany and then Portugal, at the World Cup in 2014.

Only a useless country charges GHC 5 billion port duty for 1 car - Obinim laments

Bishop Obinim's Rolls Royce Fly to New York from $945. Book now to get the best price. Leader and founder of The International God’s Way Church, Angel Daniel Obinim says Ghana is a ‘foolish’ country, because no country that has sense will charge an import duty of 5 billion cedis for a car, MyNewsGh.com can report.  Obinim, who bought his Rolls Royce for 300,000 dollars said he was charged a duty of 5 billion cedis.  MyNewsGH.com could not readily verify whether the amount was 500,000 Ghana cedis, which he converted to the old cedis. What we can report is that he kept mentioning ‘5 billion, 5 billion’ as the duty he paid at the port to clear his car.  If the amount is 500,000 cedis, as we are guessing, it would mean that Obinim paid a duty of over 120,000 dollars to the state, which he says is rather outrageous.  According to Angel Obinim, everything in the country is rising in cost and it beats his imagination that he had to be charged 5 billion (old cedis)...

Countryman Songo announces return

Multimedia journalist, Patrick Osei Agyemang, popularly known in media circles as Countryman Songo, is due for a comeback next Monday, adomonline.com can confirm.  Songo who has been off air for some time now has been preparing for his return in the last few days and he has exclusively confirmed that he will be back on the our television screens on Monday.  The award-winning journalist who hosts Ghana’s most-watched mid-day television show, “Fire 4 Fire” on Adom TV has been off air for what Management says is for “strategic reasons”.  Songo, a known critic of sports, particularly football, was off air when the recent scandal hit Ghana football.  Viewers have therefore been yearning for his views on the happenings, especially as he has, in the past, insisted that there is rot in the game that needs the state’s attention. At a recent Presidential Press Meet at the Jubilee House, the tough-talking journalist was on record to have asked the president about his ac...
